There, she attended classes in Vocal Health, Dysfunction/Constriction, Vocal Exercises, Aged-Based Parameters, Problem Solving, Emotions/Intentions, Language and, participated in practice Modules. She is certified in Levels I and II of Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method at the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory. There she studied with master professionals in the areas of Pedagogy, Vocal Health, Anatomy, Acoustical Physics, and Repertoire.Ĭontinuously keeping up with the times, Charlotte has worked with Speech Therapist Shirley Tennyson on Vocal Massage as well as attending various David Jones master classes. Surkin was in their first graduating class of the Core of Knowledge Program. She serves on the Board of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS-NYC Chapter) and is a member of the New York Singing Teachers Association (NYSTA) Ms. The subject was “Teaching Singing to Students who are Blind and Visually Impaired.” Surkin had an article published in the Journal of Singing through the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) in the 2018 September/October issue. She also gave a Vocal Master Class in China to the award-winning Liaoning Choir.
